Our company was incorporated in 2008 (NZ Companies Registration 2170267 NZBN: 9429032573220) to provide professional services to the New Zealand Ministry of Education Building Improvement Programme. School Property Project Management was involved in the early development of the MOE Building Improvement Programme. The Programme was initiated to manage the Weather tightness remediation/replacement building programme throughout New Zealand.
Our main role in the first three years was to provide professional services to the Ministry of Education Programme Manager for the Building Improvement programme. Our brief was to develop the scope, policies, procedures and operational processes in dealing with issues that resulted from school property affected by weather tight issues.
To achieve this we undertook the following tasks:
Work with the Ministry of Education to develop its internal skills and policy, procedure and operating processes around dealing with school weather tight related matters. Undertake client and stakeholder relationship management for projects including project reporting, financial management and risks and issues management.
Undertake the procurement process for Building related consultants and contractors:
- Building Surveyors
- Architects
- Quantity Surveyors
- Construction Contractors
Manage the consultants and contractors to deliver the:
- Building Survey services
- Remedial design
- Consenting
- Construction
- Commissioning
- Final inspections
- Issue of practical completion and defects liability completion certificates
- Obtaining Electrical and Fire Certificates
- Obtaining CPU and CCC documents
- Submitting the Ministry’s required project forms and asset transfer forms
School Property Project Management Ltd is also contracted by the Ministry of Education to manage temporary accommodation requirements in schools, throughout New Zealand, for the Building Improvement Programme, while the permanent buildings are being remediated.
- Develop the policy and processes and the internal skills of the Ministry for the provision of relocatable buildings
- Obtain agreement with schools on the location and configuration of their relocatable buildings and any upgrade work required
